Speed Monster, Steel roller coaster in Tusenfryd, Norway
Speed Monster is a steel roller coaster at Tusenfryd that winds through the park's forest setting. The track stretches around 690 meters and carries riders to heights near 31 meters while reaching speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour.
The roller coaster opened in 2006 as the largest single investment project undertaken by the park at that time. This construction marked a significant moment in expanding Tusenfryd's role as a major recreation destination.
The ride reflects Norwegian engineering design and has become a defining feature of the amusement park's landscape with its looping path near the main entrance area.
The ride operates with two trains, each having three cars, and can carry around 700 passengers per hour. Visitors should note that the experience includes several inversions, so you should be in good physical condition.
The ride uses a hydraulic launch system that accelerates passengers from zero to 90 kilometers per hour in less than 3 seconds. This extreme acceleration makes the opening seconds of the experience particularly intense.
