Dang District

Dang District is an administrative division in Lumbini Province spanning two parallel valleys between the Sivalik Hills and the Mahabharata Range. The region covers roughly 3,000 square kilometers and forms part of the Inner Terai, a fertile zone with diverse plant life.

Archaeological finds in the district, including ancient fossils of apes and early humans, show that the region has a deep human past. These discoveries help scientists understand how humans evolved in Nepal.
