Ama Dablam, Mountain in Nepal

Ama Dablam is a stunning peak in the eastern Himalayan range of Nepal.

The first successful ascent was made in 1961 by Mike Gill, Barry Bishop, Mike Ward and Wally Romanes.

For Sherpas living in the Khumbu region, Ama Dablam holds religious significance.

The standard ascent route is considered to be technically challenging for mountaineers.

Known as 'Mother's necklace', its ridges are likened to the arms of a mother protecting her child.
