Faiz Mahal

Faiz Mahal is a palace in Khairpur featuring 36 rooms connected by symmetrical corridors with strategically positioned arches. These architectural elements direct natural light throughout the building and create a thoughtful interior design.

Mir Sohrab Khan Talpur built this palace in 1798 as the main court of the Talpur rulers. The building served as the center of royal power in the Khairpur dynasty.

The main reception hall displays portraits of Talpur rulers and preserves handwritten letters from the royal period. Visitors can see the personal side of the monarchy through these kept documents.

The palace sits on DCO House Road in Khairpur, roughly 28 kilometers from Sukkur and about 436 kilometers from Karachi. Access comes via National Highway 5, making it reachable for visitors from other cities.

The former elephant stables and horse quarters have transformed into a mango orchard over time. This change shows how historical spaces gain new purposes in everyday life.
