Pińczów, Historical market town in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Poland
Located in the Nida River valley, Pińczów extends across limestone hills with narrow streets leading to a central market square at 300 meters elevation.
The settlement originated in the 12th century around a limestone quarry, later developing into a town after the construction of a Gothic castle in 1300.
During the 16th century, the town maintained a Calvinist Academy and hosted important Protestant synods, earning recognition as a significant Reformation center.
The town serves as the administrative center of Pińczów County, offering regional government services and connection to the Holy Cross Mountains narrow-gauge railway.
The town preserves a restored synagogue and the 18th-century Wielopolski Palace, reflecting its mixed Christian and Jewish heritage through architectural landmarks.
