Parque dos Poetas is a sculpture garden and urban park in Oeiras covering about 22 hectares with sculptures representing around 60 poets throughout the grounds. The collection includes mostly Portuguese writers alongside some authors from Portuguese-speaking regions.
The park was created between 1998 and 2015 in three phases, initially focusing on twentieth-century poets. The collection later expanded to include works from earlier periods, showing a wider range of literary history.
The Temple of Poetry functions as a performance venue where concerts and outdoor events take place throughout the year. This space brings the literary tradition to life through regular festivals and cultural activities.
The park is open daily with hours varying by season, roughly 9 AM to 11 PM in summer and 10 AM to 8 PM in winter. Entry is free for all visitors, making it an accessible destination.
The park features a cybernetic fountain system and poetry forest where visitors walk through zones representing different literary periods. This spatial design lets people experience literary evolution through their movement across the grounds.
