The church features a bright interior with a barrel-vaulted ceiling, twin bell towers, and geometric pattern tiles along its walls and baptistery.
Built in the 1500s on a former Visigothic necropolis site, the structure underwent major reconstruction following severe damage from the 1755 Lisbon earthquake.
The interior contains Portuguese gilded woodwork altars, ceramic tiles from 1720 depicting Virgin Mary scenes, and a ceiling painting by José Malhoa.
The church holds regular mass services at 10:00 AM and 7:15 PM on weekdays, with additional services throughout Sundays from 10:00 AM to 7:15 PM.
The baptistery displays a circular stone font with striations and contains a tile panel depicting Saint Peter under a polychrome vaulted ceiling.
