The Santa Maria da Feira church exhibits Gothic, Gothic-Mudejar, and Renaissance architectural elements throughout its structure, with three naves of equal height separated by cylindrical columns.
Originally built as a Visigothic temple in the 7th or 8th century, the church underwent reconstruction in 1259 under King Afonso III of Portugal's initiative.
The church received its name Santa Maria da Feira in 1261 when King Afonso III authorized the establishment of regular markets in the surrounding area.
Located in Santa Maria Square, the church maintains its status as an Immovable Cultural Heritage site, accessible to visitors interested in religious architecture.
The medieval bell tower contains a 14th-century bell, while the Manueline-Mudejar gallery features ogival arcades separated by cylindrical buttresses with conical terminations.
