Our Lady Queen Cathedral, Bragança, Modern cathedral in Bragança, Portugal.

Our Lady Queen Cathedral is a contemporary church with a pentagonal design and seating arranged in an amphitheater style. The interior combines this geometric layout with decorative elements that reference regional characteristics.

The building was completed in 2001 and was the first cathedral project realized in the 21st century in Portugal. This opening marked a turning point in the country's religious architecture after decades without new cathedrals.

The tabernacle inside takes the shape of the Bragança district, linking religious purpose with the local landscape. A ceramic panel depicts Christ oriented toward the northeast, reflecting how the building connects spiritual meaning to its surroundings.

The church is open most days of the week, with visiting times split into two blocks separated by a lunch break. Plan ahead since opening hours are limited and vary by day.

The floors and walls incorporate local flora and architectural features from the Bragança region in their design. This connection to the surrounding landscape transforms the interior into both a geographic and spiritual landmark.
