Iași Botanical Garden

Iași Botanical Garden is a collection of over 9,800 plant species organized across distinct growing areas following scientific principles. The site includes greenhouses, beds with Mediterranean plants, and open sections dedicated to systematic study and display.

This garden was founded in 1856 as the first university botanical garden in Romania by a physician. That foundation marked the beginning of organized scientific plant research in the country.

The garden serves as a place where researchers and plant enthusiasts from around the world exchange knowledge and specimens. Visitors walking through can sense the active scientific work that continues here, connecting local gardeners with the global community.
