Casa Memorială „Mihail Sadoveanu” din Iași, Literary memorial house in Iași, Romania.
The Casa Memorială is a museum housed in a residential building containing seven rooms furnished with desks, books, hunting weapons, and personal objects. Each space is arranged to show the daily life and work surroundings of a 20th-century Romanian writer.
The building was constructed in 1842 as a residential house and later housed a prominent composer during World War I. A Romanian writer then lived there from 1918 to 1936 and used it as both home and writing space.
The residence became a meeting place for writers and artists from Iași over many decades. Today, the rooms reflect how a major Romanian author lived and worked among his personal possessions and collections.
The museum is located in a side street in the historic center of Iași and is easily accessible on foot. Visitors should contact ahead to arrange a guided tour, as access is typically by appointment only.
The garden contains a stone and bronze artwork by a modern sculptor that commemorates family and loss. This quiet corner is often overlooked but reveals an important part of the writer's family story.
