George Topîrceanu memorial museum

The George Topîrceanu memorial museum is a 19th-century literary house in Iași displaying the personal items and written work of the Romanian poet. The collection includes writing instruments, photographs, manuscripts, and other objects from his lifetime.

The poet moved into this house in 1932 with help from his friend Demostene Botez and lived there until his death in 1937. These years represented the final chapter of his life.

The writer's study displays his original desk, pens, and inkwells along with vintage records and photography equipment from his era. The room offers a direct sense of how the poet worked and lived.

The house is located at Ralet Street number 7 in Iași and is straightforward to find. The best visiting times are Tuesday through Sunday when the building is open to the public.

The collection includes glass plate negatives photographed by the poet himself, revealing his involvement in photography as a creative pursuit. Also notable is a caricature drawn by theater director Ion Sava, offering a humorous glimpse of the man behind the work.
