Aciliu Viaduct, Steel road bridge in Aciliu, Romania.
The Aciliu Viaduct extends across 1,100 meters with fourteen spans of 78 meters each, reaching a height of 80 meters above ground level.
Construction of the Aciliu Viaduct started in December 2013, and the structure was completed in September 2014 as part of the A1 motorway development.
The viaduct represents a milestone in Romanian infrastructure development, connecting communities along the IV Pan-European transportation corridor in Eastern Europe.
The bridge includes a 24-meter wide deck that accommodates four lanes of traffic, improving transportation between the cities of Orastie and Sibiu.
Engineers installed concrete piles 40 meters deep into the bedrock to stabilize the structure against frequent landslides in the sandy soil of Aciliu valley.
