Dumbrava Sibiului Natural Park, Natural park in Sibiu, Romania.
Dumbrava Sibiului Natural Park is a protected forest area near Sibiu featuring three artificial lakes along the Trinkbach River. Around 96 hectares of dense oak and hornbeam forest form the landscape and support diverse wildlife and plant life.
The area received protected status in March 2000 under a conservation law designating it as an IUCN category V protected landscape. This official recognition acknowledged the ecological value of the forest area.
The ASTRA National Museum within the park displays rural Romanian life through traditional houses and crafts from different regions. Visitors can walk through authentic village buildings and observe handmade techniques passed down through generations.
The park offers marked hiking trails and designated picnic areas throughout the grounds. Information centers provide orientation and guidance about local wildlife and plant species.
The old tram line that once connected Sibiu to Rasinari still runs visibly through the park grounds. The municipal cemetery, established in 1907, also sits within this green space.
