Rublyovka, Residential area in western Moscow, Russia.
Rublyovka is a residential district that follows the Rublyovo-Uspenskoye Highway in western Moscow, known for its sprawling properties with large villas and private estates. The area stretches through wooded terrain and contains gated compounds that line the main road for several kilometers.
The road served as a route for Russian tsars starting in the 16th century and was used by rulers including Peter the Great during their journeys. After the Soviet Union collapsed, the area transformed quickly into a residence location for wealthy Russians who built their country houses here.
The neighborhood developed its reputation during the 1990s as many prominent Russian figures and business leaders chose to build their residences here. Today the area combines forest surroundings with modern architectural designs that stand behind tall fences and security installations.
Access is through a two-lane paved road that takes around 40 minutes from central Moscow depending on traffic. Most properties are not open to the public and are monitored by private security services.
Within the area sits Barvikha Luxury Village, a shopping complex with international luxury brands and dealers for Bentley and Ferrari. The neighborhood has developed its own dialect among locals that blends business terms with traditional Moscow Russian.
