Central Stadium

Central Stadium is a sports venue in Astrakhan with a football field and modern facilities designed for spectators. The structure includes covered seating for approximately 17,712 people and contains training areas for basketball, volleyball, and athletics.

The venue was built in 1955 with wooden stands holding 15,000 people and underwent multiple renovations. Major reconstruction occurred in 1964, 1974, and 2006, transforming it into its current form.

The stadium is the home ground for FC Volgar Astrakhan and hosts regional festivals including the Sabantuy celebration. It plays a central role in the city's sports and community life.

The stadium is located in the Leninsky district on Latysheva Street and is easy to access. Visitors should arrive early on game days to secure good seating and avoid congestion.

The stadium recorded its peak attendance in 2001 during a match against FC Uralan Elista when approximately 33,000 spectators exceeded the official seating limit. This moment reflects how important such matches are to the city.
