Villa Schmidt, Art Nouveau architectural landmark in Amalienau, Russia

Villa Schmidt is an Art Nouveau residential building in Kaliningrad with an ornately designed facade and organic flowing forms. The structure displays characteristic early 1900s features including curved lines and decorative embellishments throughout.

Villa Schmidt was built in 1903, as recorded by the inscription above the upper central window. From 1949 the building housed Kindergarten No. 27, which moved there in April 1953. In 1983 it became a compensatory kindergarten for children with visual impairments, and in November 2013 it merged with Kindergarten No. 13 to form a combined-type institution.
