Church of the Resurrection of Christ from Patakino

The Church of the Resurrection of Christ from Patakino is a log structure made from stacked pine timber joined with dovetail techniques. Its cubic base supports an octagonal tower that rises to a pointed roof.

It was built in 1776 as a cemetery chapel in the village of Patakino. The structure was dismantled and relocated to the Museum of Wooden Architecture in Suzdal between 1969 and 1970.

The building reflects rural carpentry traditions and shows how village craftspeople understood their craft. The details reveal what mattered to ordinary people who worshipped here centuries ago.

The structure sits within an open-air museum alongside other preserved wooden buildings like farmhouses and windmills. You can walk around the grounds and view the building from different angles to appreciate its construction.
