Moscow Contemporary Art Center Winzavod

Winzavod is an arts center located on the grounds of a former brewery complex in the Basmanny District, comprising seven red brick buildings. The complex offers exhibition halls, art galleries, artist studios, design shops, and educational spaces for contemporary art.

The site began as a brewery facility in the 1800s and later served as a wine storage facility before its conversion into an art center in 2007. The transformation preserved the industrial architecture while creating space for contemporary artistic activity.

The center shapes the neighborhood through its exhibitions and open studios, where visitors can watch artists at work. The spaces are used daily by people exhibiting, creating, or engaging with contemporary art.

The center is accessible from Kurskaya or Chkalovskaya metro stations, with parking available near Munk Cafe on 4th Syromyatnichesky Lane. It's worth checking which exhibitions are open before visiting, as not all areas are always accessible.

The former wine tanks and storage vessels from the original complex now function as unusual cylindrical exhibition spaces. These circular rooms create interesting conditions for displaying art and visually recall the site's industrial past.
