Gosplan garage

The Gosplan Garage is a vehicle facility complex in Lefortovo District with a distinctive fluted front facade featuring large windows. The windows flood the interior working spaces with natural light while creating the building's most recognizable feature.

Built between 1932 and 1936, the garage served as a vehicle facility for the Soviet Union's State Planning Committee. It marked the end of Melnikov's working period in architecture.

The building represents a significant example of Soviet modernist design, created by Konstantin Melnikov as his final architectural project. You can see how the designer pushed beyond traditional shapes and materials.
