Krylatskiy bridge, Road bridge in Moscow, Russia
Krylatskiy Bridge crosses the Moskva River and connects two districts of Moscow with a wide roadway. It accommodates multiple lanes of traffic alongside pathways for pedestrians and cyclists.
The current structure opened in 1938 as part of Moscow's major redevelopment and replaced an earlier wooden pontoon crossing from 1786. Early 2000s renovation work added protective coatings to maintain the bridge for ongoing use.
The bridge features four 28.7-meter pylons with metal chains, representing the architectural engineering achievements of the Stalin period in Moscow.
The bridge is easy to cross on foot or by bicycle with plenty of space for both. Walking during daylight hours is most comfortable, and the adjacent riverbanks offer good access to the area.
The structure is lit at night by an LED system that gives the river a warm, golden glow. This lighting accentuates the silhouettes of the four pylons and creates a distinctive appearance after dark.
