Aleksandr Naryshkin established the estate in 1744, initially constructing a wooden palace that later burned and was rebuilt in stone.
The estate attracted numerous Russian writers, artists, and composers, including Tchaikovsky, Mayakovsky, and Pavel Tretyakov, founder of the Tretyakov Gallery.
While access to certain areas remains restricted, visitors can explore the surrounding protected grounds and observe the classical architecture.
The estate witnessed the transformation from a noble residence to a Soviet-era property, reflecting Russian social changes across three centuries.
