Kesene Mausoleum

The Kesene Mausoleum stands on the eastern shore of Big Kesene Lake in Chelyabinsk Oblast and displays architectural features from the medieval period. The structure is built of stone and has a distinctive vertical form that is visible from a distance.

The mausoleum was built between the 14th and 16th centuries and received its designation as a federal cultural monument through official decree in 1960. This early recognition showed that its historical importance was understood during the Soviet period.
