The Alexandrov Kremlin contains several stone churches, defensive walls, and towers spread across a fortified complex measuring several hectares in size.
Ivan the Terrible used this fortress as his residence from 1565 to 1584, establishing it as the center of Russian political power during that period.
The Trinity Cathedral within the complex displays 16th-century frescoes and white stone carvings that demonstrate medieval Russian artistic techniques.
The fortress museum opens daily from 10:00 to 18:00, with guided tours available in multiple languages through advance reservation at the main entrance.
The copper Tver Gate and Novgorod Gate, war trophies from the 14th century, remain preserved within the Trinity Cathedral of the complex.
