Amur Bay Bridge, Bridge across Amur Bay in Vladivostok, Russia
The Amur Bay Bridge is a crossing that spans roughly 4.4 kilometers across the bay, connecting the De-Friz Peninsula to the Muravyov-Amursky Peninsula. The roadway has four lanes and sits low over the water.
Construction began in the fall of 2009 as preparation for a major international event scheduled for 2012 in the city. The project was carried out by a company specializing in bridge construction.
The bridge represents modern Russian engineering achievement, joining other major bridges that transformed Vladivostok transportation infrastructure during the 2010s.
Vehicles travel at a maximum speed of 90 kilometers per hour across the bridge, which offers a faster route out of the city. The wide roadway allows multiple vehicles to drive simultaneously in both directions.
At night the bridge glows with about 260 LED lights that create an illuminated path across the bay. This lighting system makes it a distinctive feature for drivers traveling after dark.
