Памятник Счастью, Animated character monument in Tomsk, Russia.
The Monument to Happiness (Pamyatnik Schastyu) is a bronze monument on Shevchenko Street in Tomsk, Russia. It shows a cartoon wolf with arms stretched wide open, placed on a pedestrian path so visitors can walk around it from all sides.
The monument was put in place on October 5, 2005, when the city of Tomsk marked 400 years since its founding. It was one of several projects created for the city as part of that anniversary.
The bronze figure depicts a wolf from the Soviet animated film "Once Upon a Dog", shown with arms wide open in a joyful pose. Passers-by often stop to take photos or touch the figure, giving this pedestrian stretch of the street a playful feel.
The monument stands on a public pedestrian path and is open to visit at any time of day or night. There is a metal contact on the wolf's belly that you can touch to trigger an audio playback of phrases from the original film.
The electronic components inside the monument were once stolen, and the figure had to be fully restored before it could work again. After the theft, security cameras were installed around the site to prevent it from happening again.
