The Monument to Happiness in Tomsk features a bronze wolf from the Soviet animated film 'Once Upon a Dog', with arms stretched wide in a joyful pose. The figure stands on a pedestrian area of Shevchenko Street with its open posture occupying the public space.

The bronze sculpture was installed on October 5, 2005, on Shevchenko Street. This happened as part of the city's celebrations marking 400 years since its founding.

The bronze sculpture comes from a Soviet animated film and was selected to represent joy through its expressive posture and cheerful quality. Visitors connect with this portrayal of happiness as they encounter it in the street.

You can activate the interactive system by touching a metal contact on the wolf's belly to hear eight different phrases from the film. The sculpture sits in an easily accessible public area, so you can visit it at any time.

Few visitors know that the monument's electronic components were once stolen and required restoration. After the theft, security cameras were installed to protect the installation.
