Pereslavl Railway Museum, Railway museum in Pereslavl-Zalessky, Russia.
The Pereslavl Railway Museum displays an extensive collection of vintage locomotives, carriages, and railway artifacts spanning several decades of Russian transportation history in preserved locomotive sheds and outdoor yards.
Established in 1991 within the locomotive shed of an old peat narrow gauge railway, the museum preserves the industrial heritage of Soviet-era narrow gauge systems that once served peat extraction and forestry industries.
The museum serves as a center for railway heritage preservation, offering educational programs and guided tours that promote awareness of Russian transportation history among younger generations and international railway enthusiasts.
The museum operates Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00 during March to August and until 17:00 from September to February, located approximately 20 kilometers west of Pereslavl-Zalessky town.
Three operational steam locomotives including the Finnish-built Ft-4-028 from 1945 are periodically steamed for live demonstrations, providing visitors with authentic experiences of historical railway engineering techniques and operations.
