The Church of the Dormition is an Orthodox building located in the northern corner of Ivangorod Fortress, constructed with traditional stone and religious architectural details. Its interior features arched ceilings and religious decorations that distinguish it from the military structures surrounding it.

The building was founded in the mid-16th century and has experienced multiple changes in use over the centuries. It served different purposes under various rulers before eventually returning to Orthodox religious functions.

The church remains an active place of worship where visitors can observe daily Orthodox traditions and see how worshippers honor the space. The interior holds religious artworks that reflect centuries of devotion and prayer within these walls.

Access is through the main entrance of Ivangorod Fortress, after which the building is within walking distance. Keep in mind this is an active place of worship, so respectful behavior and appropriate dress are expected when entering.

For several years in the late 20th century, the building served as a concert hall rather than a place of worship. This unexpected transformation shows how the structure adapted to different needs before returning to its religious purpose.
