Эльмаш

Elmash is a residential district in northeastern Yekaterinburg with apartment buildings of varying sizes, parks, and shopping centers spread throughout. The area contains schools, clinics, and everyday services that support daily life for residents.

The district began developing in the 1950s when Yekaterinburg was expanding and needed new neighborhoods for factory workers. The apartment blocks built in that era still form the core of the area today.

The Elmash Palace of Culture serves as a gathering space where residents attend performances and take classes throughout the year. This reflects a Soviet tradition of placing cultural institutions at the heart of neighborhood life.

Getting to the city center is easy through metro stations on Kosmonavtov Avenue and several tram routes. Buses and trolleybuses also run through the district, connecting neighborhoods within the area.

The Kalinovsky Forest Park and Lake Kalinovka sit at the edge of the district, drawing fishing enthusiasts who gather at a maintained fishing complex. These green spaces provide a natural retreat for residents alongside the residential buildings.
