Dagsnäs Castle, Manor house in Skara Municipality, Sweden.

Dagsnäs is a manor house in Skara Municipality featuring a three-story stone building with a symmetrical facade, tall windows, and a central entrance. The estate includes outbuildings and grounds landscaped with gardens and historical features.

The current building was constructed between 1772 and 1782 under architect Per Tham and replaced an earlier medieval structure on the site. In the 19th century, architect Helgo Zettervall carried out major renovations that reshaped the estate.

The grounds contain relocated Viking age runestones gathered from across the region, forming an outdoor collection that brings Nordic heritage to life. These stones offer visitors a tangible connection to the ancient past and the people who once inhabited this landscape.

The grounds are open for visitors daily from April through October, with guided tours available in Swedish and English upon advance reservation. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended since exploring the estate and gardens involves spending time outdoors.

The estate displays layers of construction from different eras in a way that reveals the building's complex evolution over time. Medieval foundations support the 18th-century main structure, while 19th-century details add another chapter, creating a physical record of architectural changes.
