Sturup Raceway, motorsport track in Sweden
Sturup Raceway is a racing circuit in Sweden measuring over two kilometers with a mix of tight turns and short straights designed for competitive motorsport. The facility includes pit areas, paddock spaces, and spectator zones that accommodate various racing events and driver training programs.
Sturup was established in the 1970s as a simple dirt track for local folkrace events, initially measuring around 680 meters. Between 2004 and 2007, the circuit was comprehensively modernized and extended to over two kilometers to meet international racing standards.
The track sits just five minutes from Malmö Airport and about 25 minutes from the city of Malmö, making it straightforward to reach by car. The location is also accessible from Copenhagen via the Øresund Bridge, which is convenient for visitors coming from Denmark and other parts of Scandinavia.
The circuit was rebuilt in the 2000s under Lars-Christian Brask, a former racing driver and investment banker, and served as a training ground for talented drivers moving to higher racing series. Its position directly adjacent to Malmö Airport is notable, allowing spectators to observe aircraft movements while watching races.
