Fäviken Magasinet, Restaurant facility in Järpen, Sweden
Fäviken Magasinet is a dining facility on an 8000-hectare estate between Mount Åreskutan and Lake Kallsjön in northern Sweden. The property sits in a forested area with meadows, woodland, and several outbuildings that once supported farming operations.
Chef Magnus Nilsson ran the operation between 2008 and 2019, earning two Michelin stars during that period. After the closure, the estate shifted to private events and artisan food production.
The restaurant emphasized Nordic culinary traditions by sourcing ingredients directly from its surrounding estate and nearby regions in northern Sweden.
The estate accepts only private bookings, arranged by email at info@faviken.com or by phone at +46 647 400 37. The buildings lie off the main road and require a drive along unpaved tracks.
The site now produces cured meats from Jämtland livestock and skincare items made with ingredients grown on the property. The buildings stand in a landscape that remains snow-covered for months each winter.
