Åreskutan

Åreskutan is a mountain in the Scandinavian range in Jämtland that rises to 1,420 meters (4,659 ft). The peak sits at the center of a large ski resort with slopes suited to all ability levels.

The mountain was once a remote peak before tourism and winter sports transformed the area beginning in the mid-20th century. International ski competitions helped establish it as a major destination.

The mountain serves as a major winter sports hub that attracts skiers from across Northern Europe. The slopes have become central to the identity of the surrounding region.

You can reach the summit by hiking marked trails in summer or by using ski lifts during winter. Both seasons offer different ways to experience the mountain.

The mountain is home to Sweden's largest ski resort, stretching across more than a hundred kilometers of terrain. This scale makes it a primary destination for skiers throughout the region.
