Zorn Collections

The Zorn Collections is a museum complex in Mora comprising four separate buildings: the Zorn Museum, the artist's residence, Zorn's Gammelgård, and Gopsmor, housing more than 20,000 objects in total. The collection spreads across multiple structures and displays paintings, sculptures, prints, and regional textiles along with traditional artworks.

Artist Anders Zorn and his wife Emma bequeathed their entire estate to the Swedish State, which officially received the Collections in 1942. The establishment was based on their wish to preserve their artistic legacy and regional cultural collection for future generations.

The collection showcases works by Anders Zorn alongside traditional Dala paintings and woven textile art that reflect the region's creative heritage. You will also see pieces by other significant artists such as Rembrandt, showing how the artist connected with the broader European art world.

The museum complex offers guided tours led by knowledgeable staff and features a café along with a gift shop for visitors. The grounds are equipped with accessibility features to welcome people with varying mobility needs.

A dedicated textile section that opened in 1993 focuses on the family's collection of regional fabrics and documents traditional weaving techniques from Dalarna. Visitors can see there how cloth and craftsmanship played a central role in everyday life of this area.
