Ström House, Manor house in Lilla Edet Municipality, Sweden
Ström House is a manor house west of the Göta River in Lilla Edet Municipality, built in 1852 according to architect Edvard Medén's design. The building features classical architecture and now functions as an educational facility.
An earlier manor house occupied the site between 1685 and 1691, featuring two wings and a slate roof. After its destruction in 1851, the current neoclassical building replaced it and has shaped the area's character since then.
The building transformed from a private residence to a conference facility in the 1980s before becoming a preschool and daycare center in 2007.
The house sits in a quiet area west of the Göta River, surrounded by spacious grounds. The location is accessible by local roads, and the surrounding landscape features open fields and tree-lined areas typical of the region.
A German merchant named Asmus Heinrich Evers from Lübeck purchased the estate in the 1840s and set in motion major transformations. His investments shaped the property's development and established the foundation for what the site became.
