Bünsowska tjärnen, Urban park with pond in Sundsvall, Sweden.
The park features a water pond encircled by maple trees and large willows, creating a natural setting within the city environment.
Fredrik Bünsow initiated the creation of this park in 1885 by channeling fresh water from Sidsjön to transform the natural Västra tjärn pond.
The park stands near former industrial sites and historic buildings, including the location where Linderbergs metallfabrik operated from 1756 to 1907.
The park connects to multiple judicial institutions, including Kammarrätten i Sundsvall and Hovrätten för nedre Norrland, making it accessible for visitors.
A painting from 1889 documents the original landscape with the pond, foundry, and Kronohäktet before the great fire altered the area.
