Kojšovská hoľa

Kojšovská hoľa is a mountain peak in the Gömör-Szepesi Range in eastern Slovakia, rising to about 1,246 meters above sea level. From the summit, you can see across the Hernád Valley and the surrounding mountain ridges that define this part of the country.

The area near Zlatá Idka played an important role in the region's mining history, which brought economic growth to the Košice area in earlier centuries. This mining tradition shaped the development and livelihood of local communities for a long time.

Local residents from Košice regularly gather wild blueberries along the mountain trails during summer months, continuing a long-standing regional tradition.

The hike to the summit is relatively easy to access and takes about four to five hours round trip, manageable for hikers with average fitness. Near the top, there is a mountain lodge where you can rest and grab refreshments.

The plateau around the summit is home to rare alpine plants that hikers can spot on the meadows. These special plants thrive in the harsh mountain environment and are part of a fragile natural community.
