Chapel of St George, Nitrianska Blatnica

The Chapel of St George is a small place of worship with a circular main room and a half-circle sanctuary that shows how early medieval churches were built in this region. The layout follows a simple design typical of round-shaped buildings from that period.

This chapel was built in the 12th century as a church for a castle and was originally connected to a fortress. In the 15th century it became part of the town's defensive wall system and took on a new role.
