Veľká a Malá dolnosokolská jaskyňa

Veľká a Malá dolnosokolská jaskyňa are two limestone cave formations in the Považský Inovec mountains with distinct structures and sizes. Both caves display natural passage formations that developed over thousands of years through geological processes.

People inhabited this region during prehistoric times, as evidenced by Neolithic artifacts discovered within the Great Cave. These findings demonstrate that the caves served as an important location for early inhabitants thousands of years ago.

The caves, located in the Považský Inovec mountains, serve as educational sites for geological studies and natural heritage preservation in Slovakia.

The caves are accessible via marked hiking trails that start from the Výtoky recreation center about one kilometer away. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and be prepared for changing weather conditions.

The caves developed through limestone dissolution and frost weathering over thousands of years. This natural process created distinctive passages at varying elevations within the mountain formation.
