Slovak Television building

The Slovak Television building is a tall tower with distinctive rounded forms that stands out in the city skyline. The structure contains offices and broadcast facilities, with an observation deck and restaurant space formerly accessible to visitors on the upper floors.

The building was completed in 1975 and held the record as the country's tallest structure for many years before being surpassed. It represented a turning point in regional architecture and established new engineering standards for high-rise construction.

The building housed the headquarters of Slovak National Television and shaped how people across the country received broadcasts and news. Its presence in the skyline made it a symbol of media power during its main years of operation.

The building is located in the Karlova Ves district and is easily visible from various points in the city. Public access to the upper floors is not currently available, as the visitor areas remain closed.

This was the first high-rise building in Czechoslovakia to exceed 100 meters in height, breaking new ground for construction in the region. This achievement made it a landmark moment in the engineering capabilities of the era.
