Den Chai, Administrative district in Phrae Province, Thailand.
Den Chai is an administrative district in Phrae Province consisting of five sub-districts spread across multiple villages. The area functions as a local governance center connecting rural communities throughout the region.
The district was established during King Chulalongkorn's reign when a military camp was set up to secure gemstone mining operations in the neighboring area. This settlement later developed into an official administrative center.
The district maintains traditional Thai administrative structures through its five tambons, which coordinate local governance and community activities across 52 villages.
Den Chai Railway Station offers daily train connections to major urban centers, making it easy to reach district facilities. National Highways 11 and 101 connect the area with surrounding communities and allow straightforward travel throughout the region.
The railway station comprises two two-story buildings connected by an administrative structure and received recognition in 2016 for its architectural design. This layout makes it a notable example of preserved station architecture in the region.
