Phra Sambuddha Muni Siri-Uttaradit Mahapatimakara

Phra Sambuddha Muni Siri-Uttaradit Mahapatimakara is a 29-meter-high Buddha statue set within Provincial Phutthamonthon Park, commanding views across the Uttaradit region. It stands at the Wat Khung Taphao temple complex, which houses meditation spaces and facilities for religious ceremonies.

Construction of this monumental Buddha statue started in 2016 and finished in 2020, creating a new religious landmark in northern Thailand. The project represented a major development for the Buddhist community in the region.

The Supreme Patriarch of Thailand gave this statue its name, linking it to Buddhist teachings and Thai religious practices. Visitors often come here to meditate and pay respects as part of their spiritual routines.

The site is easily accessible with clear paths for visitors exploring the temple and statue. Arriving early in the morning or late afternoon is wise, as the weather is more pleasant and crowds are typically lighter.

Memorial sites surrounding the statue display artistic representations of important moments from Buddha's life. These additional artworks transform the location into an open-air classroom for Buddhist teachings.
