Ban Chang, Administrative district in Rayong, Thailand
Ban Chang is an administrative district in Rayong province with three sub-districts that span from coastal areas inland. The area encompasses multiple communities and settlements forming a diverse landscape.
The district was created in 1976 from an earlier administrative area and gained full district status in 1985 due to expansion around the U-Tapao military base. This growth brought increased infrastructure and settlement to the region.
Three sub-districts of Ban Chang maintain separate administrative structures while operating under the unified district government system of Thailand.
The area is home to an international airport serving both civilian and military flights, which shapes transportation access for the eastern region. Visitors should know the airport infrastructure defines much of the economic activity here.
The area borders three distinct beaches—one in the west, one central, and one extending along the east—that together shape the entire coastline. These beaches offer different landscapes and local characteristics for visitors to explore.
