Bang Nam Priao

Bang Nam Priao is an administrative district in Chachoengsao province located in Thailand's central region. The area is characterized by numerous waterways and farmland spread across the landscape.

The district was established in 1905 in Ban Ton Samrong as the original administrative center of the region. In 1952, authorities moved the district office to a new location on the north bank of Khlong Bang Khanak.

The district contains 148 administrative villages where Thai Buddhists, Thai Chinese, Muslims, Mons, and Christians maintain their traditions and practices.

The district is divided into ten subdistricts with multiple municipal organizations managing public services across the region. Visitors should expect infrastructure typical of a rural area with services organized according to local needs.

The name literally means 'place with sour water' and refers to the chemical composition of the local soil and water. This geological characteristic has shaped the farming practices and natural environment of the area throughout its history.
