Bang Sao Thong, Administrative district in Samut Prakan, Thailand.
Bang Sao Thong is an administrative district in Samut Prakan province south of Bangkok, spreading across flat terrain with mixed industrial and agricultural land use. The area consists of several sub-districts and serves as an important economic zone with manufacturing facilities and expanding residential neighborhoods.
The district was established as a minor district in 1995 after separating from Bang Phli, then gained full district status in 2007. This administrative change marked its shift from a rural area into a modern economic center.
The district maintains a balance between modern industrial development and traditional Thai agricultural practices through its three sub-districts: Bang Sao Thong, Sisa Chorakhe Noi, and Sisa Chorakhe Yai.
The area is relatively flat and straightforward to drive through, with good access to main roads and the nearby airport. Visitors should plan to travel by vehicle as public transit is limited and walking distances between sites are considerable.
Bang Sao Thong experienced a postal code change from 10540 to 10570 in December 2016, reflecting its growth from a minor district to an industrial center.
