Wat Buppharam, Buddhist temple in Chang Khlan, Thailand
The temple compound contains a white chedi crowned with gold, an ordination hall, two viharns, and a Dhamma hall situated near Thapae Gate.
King Mueang Kaeo established this temple in 1497, and it became the starting point for Kawila's ritual to reclaim Chiang Mai from Burmese control.
The larger viharn exhibits detailed murals depicting Jataka tales, narratives of Buddha's previous lives, painted on its interior walls two centuries ago.
Visitors can reach the temple through Smart Bus Line R3, red songthaews, or tuk-tuks, with opening hours from 6 AM to 5 PM daily.
The temple grounds feature an unexpected decoration: a small statue of Donald Duck eating Chinese noodles placed outside the main hall.
