Edremit

Edremit is a district stretching along the northern shore of its namesake gulf, where olive orchards meet the water's edge. Forested slopes of Mount Ida rise to the east, creating a landscape that transitions from coastal lowlands to tree-covered hills.

The area grew from the ancient city of Adramyttion, which served as a major maritime trading hub during Hellenistic times. Over centuries, this port settlement transformed into an agricultural region centered on olive farming and production.

Olive oil production defines daily life here, with mills and pressing facilities scattered across the valley where locals bring their harvests. The landscape is shaped by endless groves that connect families to centuries of agricultural tradition.

Bus connections link the area to larger cities, though journeys take several hours from major hubs. The spring and fall seasons offer the most comfortable conditions for exploring the coast and agricultural lands.

The district benefits from a rare blend of coastal and mountain climate conditions that allow both olives and forests to flourish together. This combination creates a landscape where agricultural land and natural woodland coexist in an uncommon way.
