Founded by Rhodian settlers in 690 BCE, Phaselis developed into a maritime trade center under Persian, Greek, and Roman rule until the 7th century CE.
The remains of public buildings, including a 2000-seat theater and market places, demonstrate the commercial and social practices of ancient Mediterranean civilizations.
The archaeological park opens daily from 8:00 to 20:00, with entrance fees of 180 Turkish Liras and free access for museum pass holders.
Three natural harbors surround the ancient city, allowing visitors to combine swimming and snorkeling with exploration of archaeological structures.
