Phaselis Ancient City

The ruins of Phaselis extend over 30 hectares on two hills, featuring ancient structures including baths, theaters, and public squares along the Mediterranean coast.

Rhodian colonists established Phaselis around 690 BC as a maritime trade center, later controlled by Persians, Greeks, Romans, and Byzantine empires through centuries.

The archaeological remains include a theater for 1500 spectators, Roman baths from the 3rd century AD, and a tetragonal agora dedicated to Emperor Hadrian.

Visitors access the site through the main street called Cordo, which stretches 225 meters from the South Port and measures 20-25 meters in width.

The city contains three separate harbors - North, Battle, and Protected Sun Harbor - each designed for specific maritime activities in ancient times.
