Velyka Korenyha is a residential neighborhood on the western edge of Mykolaiv located along the right bank of the Bug estuary. The area stretches across the riverbank and combines housing with local facilities and schools.
The settlement was founded in 1791 and gradually developed into a residential area. It received the status of an urban-type settlement from 1946 to 1996.
